EFTPOS facilities are available at most restaurants and shops and most credit cards are accepted at most establishments.

Buses

Bus services are available from Dinner Plain to Mt Hotham from 7am to 7pm every 30 minutes during the winter peak season. Consult this year’s timetable for fares. The Alps Bus Link Services Omeo to Bright provides public transport between Omeo and Bright along the Great Alpine Road. Stops will be made along the route at Dinner Plain.

Car parking

Please park in the car parking available at your accommodation. Fines will be issued for vehicles parked in no standing areas. Permits are required for overnight parking at Scrubbers end and are free of charge.

Day Care (winter only)

Hotham Day Care is located at the Big D, Children’s Snow Zone. Licensed to cater for up to thirty children aged between three months and five years. Hotham Day Care is renowned for its specialised and professional care, providing qualified and experienced staff that strive to meet each child’s individual needs. Dogs

Dogs are welcomed to Dinner Plain, although a permit is required. This can be arranged with the Alpine Shire. Visit www.alphineshire.vic.gov.au

 

Day Parking Only.

Permits must be obtained from your accommodation provider and displayed when parked at Scrubbers End.

Brandy Creek Supermarket on Big Muster Drive (operate during Easter and winter only) and The General Store Supermarket at Mt Hotham operates all year.

Snow Chains Hire & Fitting

It’s a legal requirement to carry chains during the winter season while traveling the Great Alpine road between Harrietville and Omeo.  Chains can be hired from Hoys in Harrietville or Dinner Plain, Rays Ski Hire in Myrtleford or Omeo Ski Hire.

Snow Clearing

Please check that vehicles are not parked along roadways due to snow clearing operations. Overnight parking is available free of charge with a permit which can be organised through your accommodating provider. Waste & Recycling Services

Collection days during peak periods: Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Please use the supplied bags for recycling (clear) and rubbish (black) Additional bags are available from the Brandy Creek Supermarket

Properties have an external garbage hutch for your waste; loose waste will not be collected and usually incurs an additional cost to be bagged correctly.

Baby Sitting

BBQ’S & Picnics

BBQ facilities are located at DP Hut and Scrubbers End. Other picnic sites include JB Hut, Champagne Point, or a short drive to Victoria Falls.
